Connect What national park do you dream of visiting?

I dream of visiting the National Park of America Samoa to experience a place much different than my homelands but a place that is still deeply intertwined to the Indigenous people of the place. The water and lands look amazing, the flora and fauna familiar but so different, and the culture simarily anciently connected. To see the sunrises and sunsets, night skies, and wrapped in sounds foreign to my ears would give such solice in a place that almost equals my paradise here at home.

What has been your favorite adventure experience?

There is nothing better than my culture and homelands. Teaching youth how to hunt, fish, and gather and witnessing their first successful harvest is a cultural honor. Reconnecting elders to cultural practices and homelands fills my spirit and reinforces our millenia old relationship to the place and ways of our ancestors. By supporting this knowledge and these practices my favorite adventure experience is here, with my homelands, with my people.

What would you do with $10,000?

As a community organizer, I would utilize the $10,000 to continue connecting our tribal community to our homelands through cultural activities. Youth, adults, and elders coming together on our homelands create generational learning and with coordination for fishing, hunting, and gathering events requires supplies, travel stipends, food, and honorarium for the instructors. By organizing cultural events for five years we have significantly increased our cultural competency and outdoor connections.
