I dream of visiting Yosemite and hiking Half Dome and the John Muir Trail! Yosemite is considered by many to be the 'ultimate' National Park experience. After hiking the Wonderland Trail in Mount Rainier National Park, I yearn for more raw, wild, rugged mountains, remote cascading waterfalls, vibrant and lush wildflower meadows, and the expansive vistas the Sierra Nevadas can offer. I look forward to sharing tales with other backpackers along the way before ultimately summiting Mount Whitney!
What has been your favorite adventure experience?My favorite adventure: solo hiking the Wonderland Trail in Mount Rainier NP. I backpacked and camped in the incomparably beautiful, dangerous, yet fragile wilderness for 9 nights, and relished seeing the mountain from every angle as I completed my 93 mile circumnavigation. I elated in the solitude, wildflowers, bears, goats, marmots, pikas, grand vistas, rivers, waterfalls, and new backcountry friends made along the way. It forever changed my whole perspective on life!
What would you do with $10,000?With the $10,000 I would complete my ultimate bucket list adventure: backpacking the 110 mile Tour du Mont Blanc throughout the Swiss, Italian and French Alps. I look forward to the grand and inspiring snowy massif, and experiencing the hearty food and culture as I travel hut to hut. I long for the camaraderie of fellow backpackers from around the globe who also endeavor to challenge themselves physically, while replenishing their souls with the beauty that being outdoors in nature provides.
