Wrangell St. Elias National Park in Alaska is a park I am dreaming of visiting. The park has the largest single wilderness area in the US, not to mention one the largest mountains in the nation PLUS housing active volcanoes. If the wilderness is what you seek, this park has it in droves.
What has been your favorite adventure experience?Last fall we did a cross country road trip, going from the east to west coast. One of our last stops was Yellowstone. We camped on top of a mountain, we woke to the sound of elk rutting, we watched grizzlies graze in a field. We swam in lakes and watched herds of bison roam the plains. The wilderness of Yellowstone is simply magical, a true masterpiece of nature’s creation. National parks reflect us at our best, & this trip made me believe I am capable of greater things than I had hoped.
What would you do with $10,000?We’d upgrade our camper and take it on a nice long road trip up the west coast and all the way to Alaska. We have a popup camper that we spent all summer rebuilding: we made a new roof, completed several interior renovations, and we’re currently working on repairs to the canvas walls. It’s good enough to use for short trips, but still has a lot of kinks left to resolve before it’s ready for full time adventuring.
