Glacier Bay National Park! I've never been to Alaska and I would love to experience the wildness of it. What an adventure it would be to row in those waters! I also would love to experience the other extreme--the desert--and feel drawn to exploring White Sands and Big Bend parks.
What has been your favorite adventure experience?Solo distance rowing really inspires me. Last fall, I rowed 33 miles RT across Penobscot Bay and up the Penobscot River to Prospect, Maine. Just a mile short of destination, I hit mid-tide and my progress came to a standstill! I knew the current could be an issue but having the experience of this challenge first-hand was important and instructive for me. I learned how powerful the Penobscot River is. It was a fantastic adventure! I felt like the ULTIMATE EXPLORER!
What would you do with $10,000?I would use the $$ to buy another dory to help grow my business, DoryWoman Rowing, including the maintenance costs of having another boat. More dories = more adventures! I would also use the award to invest in marketing. AND I hope I would have a little extra $$ for a BIG adventure in 2025. I've always wanted to try Ice Canoeing in Quebec, on the St. Lawrence River. With my Franco heritage I am entirely drawn to this experience!
