As a western girl, I dream of exploring the eastern vistas. I would love to visit the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, inspired by my lifelong fascination with Tennessee that began when I discovered the Barkley Marathons in Frozen Head State Park. This obsession has fueled plans of touring the state, with the Smokies at the heart of my dream itinerary. The park’s sights, like Roaring Fork Motor Trail, are perfect for motorhome exploration, aligning with the Ultimate Explorer prize package.

My favorite adventure was a 4-day trip that I organized with 6 other women. We started as strangers, some with no backcountry experience, and ended as fast friends. On the last day, some took a helicopter flight for a bird’s eye view. I sent my backpack via helicopter and ran the final 26 km through places with inspiring names like Wonder Pass while listening to a playlist that filled my heart with joy. The stunning sights, new friendships, and unique ending made it an unforgettable experience.

I would obtain formal certifications to guide women and teens into the backcountry, exposing them to diverse adventures. I would teach valuable skills, environmental stewardship, and safety. Additionally, I would create social media and blog content to share our experiences, highlight the beautiful places we explore, and document the personal growth and connections made. This journey would inspire others to appreciate and protect nature while fostering a supportive community.
