David Carter

My two rescue dogs and I have driven from coast to coast over 6 times now and can’t wait to do it again! Road trips with dogs are the best!

What national park do you dream of visiting?

We have yet to experience the majestic beauty of Glacier National Park, so that's currently on the top of the list, but Olympic National Park is a very close second. There's something special about the pacific northwest. We love chasing the higher altitudes for hikes that have cooler temperatures and even some leftover snow for Doc to play and run around in. Add in an Alpine lake for a quick swim, and an RV close by to snack and rest in, and it's clear that life doesn't get much better.

What has been your favorite adventure experience?

Kayak camping along the Maine Island Trail for two weeks was an experience I'll never forget. From racing the tides to our next camping spot on another island, passing by harbor porpoises and paddling and playing in the ocean surf along the shorelines as we approached the next island, finally camping in Acadia and exploring the Isle au Haut was the most exciting yet peaceful trips I've ever been a part of. The night skies were so detailed with stars and the sweet smell of the salty ocean air.

What would you do with $10,000?

Ever since watching Marty Stouffer's Wild America shows as a kid, I've always wanted to take a long road trip to Alaska, and that's exactly what I'd do. I have most of the route all planned out, and the parks I'd love to visit. This would allow me to visit the Pacific Northwest again, including Yellowstone, the Tetons, Glacier, the Cascades, Olympic National park, and take the ferry trip up to Alaska to see Tongass, Glacier Bay, Kenai Fjords, Katmai, Denali and all the way up to Kobuk Valley.
